fastCD

A C11 library with Python and NumPy bindings for the standard real Cayley–Dickson tower. Its multiplication algorithm uses O(N log N) real arithmetic operations in dimension N, evaluated in double precision. It includes matrix-free operators, independent reference implementations, and research benchmarks. C operations use caller-provided storage without allocating during arithmetic.

Associated research

Quasilinear multiplication in the Cayley–Dickson tower — Harrison Lemley, arXiv:2609.11588v2 (updated ). The paper treats unital commutative rings with 2 invertible under its coefficient-algebra hypothesis; fastCD implements the standard real tower. A comparison implementation follows Cariow & Cariowa (2015).
